This picture, shot at a public high school in Aichi Prefecture in June 2011, is of a typical computer class in that school.  The students were working on different ways of inputting the Japanese language to do searches and also working on different internet search strategies.  In what ways is this similar and different from the way a high school computer lesson might function in the United States?  Why might there be a need for more time devoted to learning how to enter language in Japan as opposed to when using English?
