Is there a rankings list or recognition system indicating the best primary and secondary native Japanese teachers in Japan?

by Shannon Costello I am working on a public education documentary film, and we are exploring international comparative models with the Japanese model and the concept of the Japanese "Sensei" as a central focus.

We are looking for stories about exemplary native Japanese teachers within the primary and secondary school systems.

I am wondering if there is a rankings list, or "teacher of the year" equivalent that could help us locate some native Japanese teachers recognized as leaders in their profession. Also, if anyone in their first hand teaching experience have come across an exceptional Japanese instructor or someone who could help shed light and illustrate the concept of "Sensei" we are very interested in hearing your stories.

We have found many prominent Japanese scholars and university professors teaching in Japan as well as in the U.S., however we are hoping to find unique personal stories about stellar individuals at a more local level.
