Kokoyakyu: Heart

This excerpt from Kokoyakyu: High School Baseball, follows a player through his morning routine, starting at 4:15AM.  This section focuses on the role of baseball in teaching life lessons such as the importance of heart as well as developing leadership skills.  In addition to footage of baseball, the excerpt also includes interesting illustrations of daily life, such as a mother making a bento (school lunch) as well as the family breakfast, and a student's long commute to school.  The documentary explores the world of Japanese high school baseball, especially the journey to reach the national tournament at Koshien Stadium in Osaka.  The National High School Baseball Tournament is a huge cultural phenomenon in Japan, drawing tens of thousands of live attendees as well as a television audience in the millions.

Post Tennoji Loss - Follows the underdog Tennoji High School team after their loss in the Prefectural Tournament. Illustrates the bond between the players and the manager, as well as the emotions felt by the players after the loss.
