Clouds, fog and industrial smoke combined early the afternoon of December 24, 1964 to plunge Tokyo into near darkness. Drivers turned on their headlights in one of Tokyo's darkest afternoons in years. The weather bureau blamed the early dusk on unusually heavy smog.  Tokyo, Japan.
