Five short stories by Kunikida Doppo, an important late 19th and early 20th century writer.  One of the stories in this collection, "Unforgettable People," is utilized in the lesson "Changing Times, Changing Literary Styles: New Japanese Literary Styles of the Late 19th Century," which also includes a brief description of Doppo written by Christopher Hill.  These stories were translated by Jay Rubin and originally appeared in Monumenta Nipponica, a leading scholarly journal about Japan.  They appear courtesy of Professor Rubin and Monumenta Nippoinica.
