Koinobori

Koinobori

Koinobori, or carp streamers, are typically displayed on Kodomo no hi, or Children's Day.  In Japan, carp symbolize determination, perseverance and bravery, and by displaying them families demonstrate their wish for their children to have the same characteristics.   Here is a child-friendly craft activity to make your own koinobori out of paper bags.
