Students studying at a juku on Friday, July 2.  The picture here was taken at about 9:00PM on a Friday night.  The students are in a classroom of a school that they attend after the end of their regular school hours.  About 3 floors of the school had classes in session.  Most likely, these students were studying at this school to help prepare them for either a college or high school entrance examination. The juku industry is a large business in Japan, and also the source of many innovative and effective teaching ideas.
