Doraemon, a friendly cartoon figure with many science fiction gadgets, is featured on this merry-go-round in Ueno Park in Tokyo.  Doraemon is a futuristic figure, whose inventions have fascinated Japanese children for many year.  Among the most popular of his gadgets is the "doko de mo doa"   (go anywhere door), which allows Doraemon to travel instantly to anywhere in the world.  Other popular characters, such as a Hello Kitty character, can be seen in the background.
