School lunch is a very important part of the Japanese school day.  In this school in Aichi Prefecture in central Japan, schools still prepare the lunch for students.  However, students are still responsible for serving lunches to their classmates, and cleaning up afterwards.  This system is important educationally in terms of teaching students about manners, responsibility, and nutrition. However, many schools no longer prepare school lunches, which are known as kyushoku.
