A Macro and Micro Look at Tsunami Damage
Miyagi Prefecture suffered significant damage from the tsunami that resulted from the 9.0 magnitude earthquake, which occurred off the coast of northeast Japan. The coastal areas including Minamisanriku-cho, Kesennuma City, Natori City were struck by a tsunami that reached tens of meters in height. This video starts by taking a macro look at the damage caused to these coastal areas, and gradually transitions to the micro level by showing the inside of a damaged house. The base of the house was a few meters off the ground, so the tsunami actually reached much higher in reality than it appears in the video shots of the inside of the house.Related Resources
